#303 Big Ozzie Swap Party experiment
SWAP YOUR SURPLUS STUFF, MEET PEOPLE, DO A LITTLE GARDENING AND TALK ABOUT HOW WE GET AROUND...
It's National Recycling Week and we're celebrating with a swag of interesting events at Randwick Sustainability Hub.
Date/time: Sunday 6 November 2011, 2.30pm to 4.30pm
Venue: Randwick Community Centre, 27 Munda Street Randwick (turn off Bundock Street into Hendy Avenue then right into Marida Street)
How's this for an innovative, interesting Sunday that will intrigue, inform and involve you in a diverse range of enjoyable activities.
2:30pm—The Great Aussie Swap
Bring up to three good quality items to swap - DVD's, CD's, books, homeware, toys, clothes, home-grown food.
Leave your offerings at the registration table in exchange for a token. Takes a look around at what other people have brought to swap and then, at 3.15, the swap happens and off you go with an armful of pre-loved, incredibly useful things.

Meanwhile, in the garden...
Pick up a few gardening tips by joining our PermaBee garden volunteers who will be getting our Permaculture Interpretive Garden ready for summer planting... there's compost fun, soil preparation and all the other good stuff that comes with gardening... It's a good change to reacquaint yourself with soil, sun and water and learn a little that you can take home to your own garden.
It's not all physical work, though, easy and convivial as that will be in the good company of others. We'll be feeding the brain, too, and seeking your ideas on how we get around the Eastern Suburbs and beyond.
At 3:45pm, why not join our sustainable transport conversation with BikEast's Dick van den Dool, local Car Share user Geoff Carroll and Randwick Council's Integrated Transport manager. We'll walk, cycle or drive away with more than a few good ideas about innovative programs happening overseas and in our neighbourhoods.
Great way to spend a Sunday with a difference, yes?
